Job Opportunity:

Seeking a dedicated Volunteer Program Manager to lead the volunteer guide program at Melbourne's remarkable little penguin colony.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate a team of enthusiastic volunteer penguin guides who deliver educational experiences every night of the year
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and educational resources for volunteers
  • Manage weekly volunteer rosters and provide ongoing support and recognition
  • Participate in guiding duties on the boardwalk one night per month
  • Collaborate with park staff and other key stakeholders
  • Connect volunteers with Earthcare programs, including citizen science initiatives
Requirements:
  • Experience in volunteer management or coordination (2+ years)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for engaging with volunteers and stakeholders
  • Experience in training delivery or educational program development
  • Passion for wildlife conservation and environmental education
  • Ability to work independently with flexible arrangements, including occasional evening sessions
  • Comfort with digital data management
