About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Parklife Metro. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering aspects of our metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Design Coordination: Review and ensure mechanical system designs align with project specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Construction Management: Supervise the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and ventilation in accordance with approved designs and project timelines.
  • Procurement & Materials Management: Assist in the selection of mechanical equipment and materials in line with the project requirements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve any technical issues that may arise during the construction phase.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and review mechanical engineering documents, including technical reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Project Cost & Time Management: Monitor mechanical project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget allocations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly within the rail, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Solid understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and ventilation.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, and local building regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing the mechanical scope of large, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar design and drafting software.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in BIM (Building Information Modelling) environments.
  • Experience with railway infrastructure projects, including stations, depots, or tunnels.
