About us

Melbourne and Olympic Parks is seeking a skilled Horticulture Tradesperson to join our team. As a Horticulture Tradesperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our grounds and sports turfs. You will work closely with our team of experts to deliver exceptional results and ensure that our precinct remains a world-class destination.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in the presentation of the precinct's open spaces, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Prepare and plan the annual site maintenance programs.
  • Participate in AO planning to ensure site readiness and presentation standards have a continuous improvement focus.
  • Delivery of the precinct's Tennis Clay courts, ensuring high standards are met through planning and programming.
  • Management of service providers to ensure best practices are maintained with a constant focus on improvements and adjusting to industry trends.
  • Assist in the delivery of the sports turf management program across all Venue playing surfaces.
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront, assisting in the implementation and ongoing improvement of all OHS requirements within the precinct.

About you

We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative individual who can balance competing demands with ease. You will be a team player, collaborating with our team to produce the best results for the precinct. Your passion for the finer details and ability to think creatively will make you an asset to our team.

Requirements

  • Certificate 3 in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens and/or turf management).
  • At least 5 years' experience in the Horticulture industry.

Key relationships

  • Reporting to Horticulture & Sports grounds coordinators.
  • All relevant tenants, stakeholders, and venue hirers.
  • All MOPT external contractors.
