Job Title: Business Risk Manager

 

Role Overview

The Business Risk Management team plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s financial services products are distributed with minimal risk.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the sales team to manage risks associated with distributing financial services products through various channels.

You will lead a team to conduct regular application reviews and oversee initiatives that improve compliance oversight and operational efficiency within the channel.

Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and represent the sales and variation team in the business ecosystem.

Finally, you will be responsible for managing the team’s priorities and strategic focus.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Personal Banking sales team to identify and mitigate risks associated with distributing home lending products.
  • Lead a team to review loan applications and develop strategies to enhance compliance oversight and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and represent the direct sales and variation team in industry forums.
  • Manage the team’s priorities and strategic objectives.

 

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a leadership role and 3+ years of experience in a Risk or Compliance function, preferably in home lending.
  • Knowledge of internal and external regulations governing home lending.
  • Strong project management skills and high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
