Business Controls Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Controls Manager to join our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mitigate risk relevant to fraud and scams through appropriate controls, ensuring risk appetite alignment with applicable divisions and the Westpac Group.
  • Provide first line-of-defence management with respect to the risk and control environment through actioning controls reviews, incident and issue rectification, and ensuring BAU risk is effectively mitigated.
  • Work to simplify the control environment and undertake thematic reviews of the business and its processes.
  • Report to governance forums providing fraud and scam risk insights and key call outs.

Requirements:

  • Prior first line risk management experience in fraud and scams or financial crime within the banking and financial services industry or consulting/professional services.
  • Demonstratable experience in developing risk frameworks, testing risk controls, and managing risk incidents and issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, strong influencing and negotiating skills, strong attention to details and presenting skills.
