Head of Learning Area

The Head of Learning Area is a senior leadership position responsible for leading and managing the Health and Physical Education (HPE) team at Morley Senior High School.

This role plays a critical part in shaping the school's vision and strategic direction, driving excellence in teaching and learning across Years 7 to 12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing HPE team, fostering a positive school culture and promoting best practice in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives that enhance student outcomes and promote inclusive and differentiated learning.
  • Translate the school's priorities into responsive and improvement-focused Learning Area Operational Plans.
  • Oversee program development, student engagement, and community partnerships in the highly successful Soccer Academy.
  • Support and mentor teachers to build capacity and promote continuous improvement aligned with the school's pedagogical framework.

  • Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning, performance development, and data-informed decision-making.
