Legal Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced legal counsel to join a dynamic team.

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with senior stakeholders to navigate complex legal frameworks and deliver new products and services to market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including service contracts and partnerships.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory obligations, including consumer credit, data privacy, AML/CTF, IP, and competition laws.
  • Support product development and go-to-market initiatives by ensuring compliance from inception through launch.
  • Advise on governance policies, compliance programs, and internal procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Work with external counsel and regulatory bodies on complex matters.
  • Deliver training and guidance to business teams on legal and compliance matters.
Requirements:
  • 3-6 years' PQE in-house or private practice experience.
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services law and regulation, including consumer credit, data privacy, and AML/CTF frameworks.
  • Proven contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with strategic priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fintech industry and be able to bring a commercial approach to legal issues.
