About the Role

The Research Orthoptist plays a key role in delivering high-quality research support to the Vitreoretinal Unit. Working as part of a team of ophthalmic clinicians and multidisciplinary researchers, the incumbent will be involved in clinical research and assessment of participants with retinal conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating research and project management tasks
  • Familiarity with clinical research, clinical trials, and research guidelines and regulations
  • Experience with different types of ocular imaging and testing platforms, including OCT, fundus cameras
  • Research data collection, management, and analysis
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with coordinating research and/or project management
  • Familiarity with different types of ocular imaging and testing platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to adhere to written guidelines and study protocols
  • Strong computer literacy, including competence with Microsoft office applications
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
