Join a renowned FMCG organisation to fill a key role in their finance team.
A business critical position exists for a Senior Financial Accountant to assist in the management and communication of the companies' financial & corporate accounting activities on a national scale and own aspects of their lease accounting process.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong attention to detail, proven lease accounting experience & knowledge, and prior experience working in a large-scale, dynamic FMCG / Retail organisation. Ideally, you will be aCA or CPA qualified accounting professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the lease accounting process for the business, following AASB16 standards.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end tasks, pre and post to the preparation of month end management reporting and analysis.
- Oversee tax compliance including income tax returns, fbt, gst and bas in consultation with external advisors.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist BU leaders with strategies to follow up outstanding debtors.
- Provide guidance on financial processes, procedures and maintain internal controls; focus on supporting operations functions including warehouses, logistic and inventory management activities.
- Provide analysis, insights and recommendations to CFO and Financial Controller on actual operating performance including variances, overheads spend to budget / variance.
- Drives continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and robust internal control.
