About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Reporter to join our team in Adelaide at The Advertiser.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and develop engaging stories across various topics relevant to the local and wider SA community.
  2. Produce high-quality, accurate, and clean copy.
  3. Develop stories from the concept stage to their digital publication.
  4. Drive subscription growth for the digital masthead and increase website traffic.
  5. Lead and inspire digital content through the development of high-quality stories.
  6. Use data analytics to find new trends and track online content performance.
  7. Deliver stories that inspire, inform, and engage the community.
  8. Build genuine connections across local businesses, sports teams, political leaders, families, and citizens.
  9. Harness digital storytelling tools, such as interactives, video, and graphics.

About You

  1. Prior writing and newsroom experience is ideal.
  2. You should have a network from the local community or be prepared to live in metropolitan Adelaide.
  3. Fantastic interviewing skills and a natural curiosity that drives you to discover impactful stories.
  4. You should be a stickler for detail and have excellent spelling and grammar.
  5. SEO and social media experience is an advantage.
  6. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
  7. You should be passionate about advocating and being the voice of the local community.
