Role Summary

The Senior Consultant, Financial Reporting supports the Australian Investment Accounting team in delivering high-quality financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting to a diverse range of investment manager and superannuation fund clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional client service and be the primary point of contact for accounting and tax queries.
  • Review and analyze financial statements and templates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure regulatory compliance and industry trends.
  • Deliver training and coaching to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve client reporting objectives.
  • Work closely with the Financial Reporting and Tax manager on new product developments and process improvement projects.
  • Manage the new client onboarding process for financial reporting and tax.
  • Oversee the output and performance of offshore teams.
  • Ensure sufficient risk management controls are in place and adhered to Northern Trust compliance standards.
About You
  • Experience working in a custodian, superannuation fund, or investment manager accounting/tax team.
  • Technical understanding and practical application of accounting and tax concepts related to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS's) and Superannuation funds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax rules as they relate to MIS's and Superannuation funds.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in utilizing financial statements and tax reporting system tools.
  • Accounting/Commerce/Finance degree qualified, ideally with a CA or CPA.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Client service and relationship management skills.
