Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of policies that support offshore wind energy in Victoria and Australia from inception. Offshore wind has been commercially deployed with success across international markets and forms a key pillar of the State's transition to Net Zero by 2045, with legislated targets of 2GW by 2032, 4GW by 2035 and 9GW by 2040.

The role works as part of a small team in a fast-paced, dynamic and cross-cutting policy area. Individuals with a background in private sector consulting who possess skills in policy analysis, written communications and presentation skills, plus an interest in renewable energy and industry development would be well suited to the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain policies that support the establishment of offshore wind energy in Victoria and Australia.
  • To work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives and community groups to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • To analyze data and research to inform policy decisions and recommendations.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to advance the goals of the role.
Essential Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as energy, engineering, accounting or finance.
  • Experience in emerging energy technologies including offshore wind.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
