The Director of Nursing Services/RN plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing team and providing exceptional care to residents.
This critical position requires a seasoned leader with expertise in managing nursing personnel, guiding staffing procedures, and setting objectives for the nursing department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Directing, evaluating, and mentoring all nursing personnel, including nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, and nursing aides in training.
- Developing and enforcing policies aimed at ensuring high-quality standards and legal compliance.
- Coordinating admission, nursing, and patient care procedures to optimize operational efficiency.
- Managing budgets and monitoring expenditures within the department.
- Resolving issues and deficiencies through performance improvement plans.
- Collaborating with other departments to streamline operations and improve resident care.
To excel as the Director of Nursing (DON), you should possess:
- A current/unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- A passion for working with seniors and delivering compassionate care.
- At least 1 year of nursing management experience in the long-term care industry, with expertise in hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.
- Experience tracking, trending, and analyzing infection control and other clinical data.
- Excellent leadership and development skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
