Job Description

The role of Senior Project Officer is a vital position within the organization, requiring strong engineering skills and experience in project management.

You will be responsible for working on engineering investigations, design tasks, and assisting the project management team. This includes producing civil engineering designs that comply with standards and good practice, investigating project-related infrastructure issues, and providing technical advice to support effective community engagement commitments throughout the scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement civil engineering designs that meet strict quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into project-related infrastructure issues, including drainage, environmental, and traffic matters, to ensure the proposed works deliver the best outcome for the community.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Management team to provide expert technical advice and support effective community engagement commitments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Civil engineering qualifications or extensive experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in civil infrastructure design using current principles and standards.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering complex projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
  • Proficiency in drafting skills, including the use of engineering software such as AutoCad / Civil 3D & Civil Site Design.
  • Experience in Engineering investigation work.
  • High skill level in the use of the Microsoft Suite of software specifically Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports and correspondence.
  • Previous experience in a Local Government or design-related office.
  • Ability to problem solve and remain agile when encountering project-related obstacles.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
