Job Overview

The Product Owner plays a critical role in ensuring that the requirements of the Business and the needs of End-Users are clearly articulated to the Development Team, resulting in developed solutions that meet all stakeholders' needs and align with the organisation's strategic goals.

This requires close collaboration with Stakeholders, Change Delivery Managers, and Business Analysts to define scope and measures of success.

The Product Owner must be able to gather and interpret data to inform product decisions and drive results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver business value and product outcomes through the design and delivery of customer and business-focused solutions.
  • Provide strategic direction and clarity of purpose to the delivery resources as the voice of the Business within the Enablement Team.
  • Implement Agile methodology, build constructive relationships, and engage and influence across the organisation.
  • Work closely with Stakeholders, Change Delivery Managers, and Business Analysts to define scope and measures of success.
  • Engage with Stakeholders from across the Business to ensure the suitability, compliance, and success of proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, SMEs, and Development Teams to create clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for applications and solutions.
  • Active participation and facilitation of ceremonies in partnership with the Scrum Master, Change Delivery Manager, and the End-to-End Enablement Team.
  • In conjunction with Delivery Managers, manage risks, issues, and dependencies between backlog items and multiple Stakeholders.
  • Execute optimal and timely delivery of prioritised initiatives in conjunction with Leaders across Technology, Digital, Product, and Claims & Assessing.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Product Owner / Technical Product Manager or a minimum of 3 years working at A&G.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of General Insurance or Financial Services is highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications are desirable.
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform product decisions and drive results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
