Solution Architect - Integration Projects

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to deliver strategic and technical leadership for a major digital health integration project. This role focuses on designing and implementing robust, secure, and scalable architecture solutions that align with national health system standards and improve healthcare outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing digital innovation in healthcare, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and working on a high-profile integration between clinical systems and the national My Health Record platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and delivery of solution architecture for complex health ICT projects
  • Define architecture standards, integration patterns, and technical roadmaps
  • Ensure solutions meet security, interoperability, and compliance requirements
  • Provide expert guidance on middleware platforms (e.g., Active MQ, event-driven architectures), RESTful API design, and healthcare interoperability (HL7, CDA, FHIR)
  • Oversee system scalability, resiliency, and performance to support long-term outcomes
  • Collaborate with clinical, business, and technical teams to understand service delivery needs and align solutions with strategic goals
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks related to system integration and data exchange
  • Provide sound advice on applying project and change management frameworks to ensure solutions are fit for purpose

ABOUT YOU:

Extensive experience as a Solution Architect on complex ICT projects, ideally within healthcare or government settings

  • Deep technical knowledge of middleware, messaging, and integration platforms
  • Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, CDA, FHIR) and experience working with national healthcare platforms (e.g., My Health Record, HIPS)
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, containerisation (e.g., Docker), and scalable solution design
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver outcomes in complex project environments
  • Proven experience applying solution architecture principles within enterprise architecture, ICT governance, and investment frameworks
