This role is pivotal in safeguarding the City of Maribyrnong’s amenities through education, enforcement, and promotion of responsible pet ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce relevant Acts, Regulations, and Council's Local Laws pertaining to animal management.
- Issue Infringement notices and record details as per Council policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily foot and/or vehicular patrols of designated areas including all parks within the Municipality.
- Investigate complaints received and resolve them in a timely and professional manner, adhering to Council policies and procedures.
- Engage with members of the public via face-to-face, telephone, written, and at times, public forums, providing guidance and education.
- Maintain a comprehensive diary of activities, ensuring timely responses to Customer Service requests where necessary.
- Prepare reports on enforcement action, attend Court, and provide testimony as required.
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) preferred, accompanied by relevant experience.
- Proven ability to comprehend and interpret Acts and Regulations, making informed decisions.
Applicants must undergo a pre-employment medical check and police check, ensuring no relevant criminal record exists.
