Defence Systems Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Defence Systems Engineer to join our team at Synergistic Systems Inc. in Melbourne. As a Defence Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping us deliver complex systems engineering projects to the Australian Defence Force.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of complex systems engineering projects, ensuring quality engineering outcomes and meeting defence project objectives.
- Analyse user needs and technical requirements to design innovative and effective solutions that align with defence project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to drive seamless integration and deployment of systems.
- Participate in the entire systems development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, validation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and contribute to the development of contingency plans to ensure project success and mitigate potential issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and defence sector developments to bring best practices and innovative approaches to the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience working as a Systems Engineer, ideally with some experience on Australian Defence projects.
- Knowledge of Australian Defence protocols, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in systems design, integration, and testing within complex engineering environments.
- Strong proficiency in system modelling tools and methodologies.
- Previous experience preferred for Defence project roles.
