Senior Cloud Strategist Role Summary

A highly skilled technologist who can influence innovation in Victoria's education sector is sought to develop cloud-based solutions for public sector clients. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS technologies and broad experience with how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

This role involves owning the technical engagement and success of specific business initiatives and projects, while providing strategic guidance on AWS technologies and best practices. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive AWS cloud strategy within multiple customers, ensuring that tactical activities and point projects align with the overall technical strategy.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical engagements, collaborating with customers to identify and prioritize their cloud journey, and ensuring timely and successful delivery of value.
  • They will also provide thought leadership and become a trusted adviser to different stakeholders in the customer's organisation's hierarchy, enabling others to become cloud champions.
  • Additionally, they will capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS architecture community through authoring or contributing to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blogs.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this Senior Cloud Strategist role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of technology domain areas experience, including design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
  • Strong expertise in AWS technologies, including Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon RDS.
  • Broad experience with how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
