Job Opportunity: Air Freight Export Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Air Freight Export Team based in Melbourne.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the export process, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders, and driving departmental performance.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and distributing required documents for consolidation, adhering to regulations and internal procedures.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and management.
  • Supervising transactional operations in the forwarding area, including capacity booking, pickup arrangement, and shipment planning.
  • Ensuring timely handling of export documents and monitoring shipment status during transport.
  • Resolving incidents and supporting customer service in exception management resolution.
  • Benchmarking supplier performance and developing improvement plans as needed.
  • Identifying training needs and opportunities to develop a skilled team.
Key Responsibilities

As an Air Freight Export Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, controlling, updating, and distributing all required documents for consolidation, complying with regulations and internal procedures.
  • Liaising with all key stakeholders, including customers, product, management, sales, external suppliers/carriers.
  • Supervising transactional operations in the forwarding area (capacity booking, pickup arrangement, planning and follow-up of shipment in the forwarding area and during the transport process).
  • Arranging pickup, finalizing booking, and performing booking optimization.
  • Ensuring handling of required Export documents.
  • Following up shipment status in the Export area and during transport, identifying incidents, and ensuring resolution of incidents.
  • Supporting Customer Service in incident and exception management resolution.
  • Creating, building, and maintaining excellent relationships with key suppliers.
  • Continuously monitoring supplier performance and developing improvement plans when required.
  • Identifying training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.
  • Ensuring proper implementation of a customer has been conducted before Operations commence.
