We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Urban Planner to join our Melbourne team. As a key member of our Urbanism + Planning practice, you will play a critical role in delivering a variety of major infrastructure and public realm projects throughout Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage urban planning deliverables, including project approval strategies, multi-criteria analysis, and options assessment.
- Provide support on major projects, including development plans, urban design and landscape plans, urban design strategies, planning due diligence, and approval strategies.
- Effectively manage projects to schedule and budget, achieving high-quality outcomes and outputs to the satisfaction of clients.
- Provide urban planning advice on a broad range of AECOM projects, including masterplans, feasibility studies, and business cases.
- Mentor and develop junior staff to ensure their professional development and the delivery of high-quality and timely outcomes on projects.
- A tertiary qualification to degree level in Urban/Environmental Planning (or similar) with 10+ years of relevant experience in urban planning.
- A well-developed understanding of contemporary planning practices, with the ability to apply planning legislation and planning schemes across transit and/or precinct development.
- Demonstrated skills in managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- A desire to think and act beyond one's technical training, embracing opportunities to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
