About the role

This position oversees high-level strategic advice and policy development to ensure high-quality public early learning services in NSW.

The Director, Service Planning and Delivery leads a team working across the department to implement new public early learning services and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulation.

Key responsibilities include directing strategic advice, designing policies, and implementing resources to achieve quality outcomes for children in NSW.

This leadership role requires engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and partners within and outside the department to drive positive change and reform in early childhood education.

Job requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education (preferred), business, management, social sciences, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing early childhood education and care services and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulation.
  • In-depth understanding of the National Quality Framework and child safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organization.
  • Understanding of the context of providing early childhood education services co-located with schools.
  • Holding a valid clearance to work with children is mandatory.
