Mechanical Designer/Drafter Role

Our organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team of passionate engineers, designers, and project managers. This individual will play a key role in delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-office team.

About the Position

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with CAD software, including Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D. They will also possess a strong understanding of Autocad and be proficient in relevant design software. In addition, they should have knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.

  • Import and manipulate vendor drawings/models.
  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models, including P&ID's.
  • Export equipment/piping quantities.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
  • Support project teams with documentation, revisions, and coordination of drawings/models.
  • Establish and maintain design templates and drawing standards.
Requirements

To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • A relevant TAFE qualification, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D.
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of risk management and the ability to identify project and design-related risks.
  • Commitment to working safely and within our HSEQ systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for engaging with a broad range of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
