Factory Controller

The Factory Controller is responsible for supporting the Factory Manager as a trusted co-pilot within the Factory Leadership Team.

Job Description

The role of the Factory Controller is to provide visibility around costs related to the factory processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting. This includes ensuring adherence to financial legal requirements and NAS. The Factory Controller will also be responsible for validating and reviewing projects to ensure completion and realization of savings.

A key responsibility of the Factory Controller is to understand key factory cost drivers and the link to factory variances and SAP reports in order to prioritize cost improvement opportunities. This includes coordinating reporting of actual costs and ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of input data for Period-end Close (PEC).

The Factory Controller will also be responsible for providing early warning to stakeholders in case of major cost deviations. Additionally, the Factory Controller will participate in business planning by coordinating, challenging, and preparing input assumptions for the Standard Cost Budget (SCB) and Dynamic Forecast (DF).

In this role, the Factory Controller will develop, control, and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests. Furthermore, the Factory Controller will be the audit and compliance 'champion' at the factory and will be the key contact for internal and external audits.

The Factory Controller will also be responsible for ensuring clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation, and compliance with internal controls. In addition, the Factory Controller will coach and develop the factory finance personnel as individuals and as a team, including career and succession planning.

Finally, the Factory Controller will promote a clear understanding of financial key figures and costing within the factory, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Joining a collaborative team, you will be a strong leader with a history of delivering results in a high-pressure environment.
  • You have demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced changes.
  • You have a natural passion for data and an eye for detail.
  • Ideal candidate will be Degree qualified in Finance and have 5+ years experience with understanding of key commercial financial areas.
  • Manufacturing Costing experience; ideally within a factory or supply chain environment.
  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Understanding of FMCG industry; excellent Excel, SAP, reporting tools knowledge essential and knowledge of Power BI will be an advantage.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
