Software Engineer

Canonical is a leading tech firm that specializes in open-source software development. We are currently seeking talented Software Engineers to join our team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Python tools to support the build and publication process for snaps, charms, and rocks.
  • Work with cross-compilation toolchains and packaging formats to improve automation and ease developer experience.
  • Collaborate with external projects to better serve community needs.
  • Extend the snap build ecosystem using Python, tools, frameworks, integrations, and CI systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in Python programming language.
  • Strong understanding of modern GNU/Linux distributions.
  • Good understanding of build systems and toolchains, including cross-compilation.
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, and LXD).
  • Ability to work with various languages, toolchains, frameworks, integrations, and CI systems.
