Surgical Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Western Australia.

About the Role

As a Surgical Support Specialist, you will work closely with anaesthetists to ensure seamless patient care throughout surgical procedures.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist anaesthetists with patient care during intraoperative phases.
  • Prepare equipment, ensuring correct functioning, for allocated operating lists.
  • Maintain and develop clinical skills to manage patient health problems appropriately.
  • Provide high-standard patient care while utilising resources efficiently.
  • Operate within legal and registration constraints related to anaesthetic practice.
  • Recognise hazards to patient safety and take appropriate action.
  • Use hospital equipment and resources correctly, adhering to work health and safety requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience as an Anaesthetic Nurse or Anaesthetic Technician.
  • Diploma Qualification in Anaesthetic Technology and/or Cert IV Anaesthetic Technology.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate patient care under supervision.
  • Flexibility with rostering and commitment to teamwork.
