Our Tax Advisory practice is a team of legislative experts, together covering the complete tax spectrum. With a focus on clients in the middle-market, the team has the opportunity to directly engage with business owners and key stakeholders, delivering impactful solutions.
We're looking for a Tax Advisory Manager or State Taxes Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our State Taxes team, you will provide technical and commercially focused advice to a diverse range of clients across all states and territories of Australia, predominantly centred on stamp duty, land tax and windfall gains tax.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing technically accurate, commercially focused and tailored advice and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Preparing private ruling applications, objections correspondence, lodgements and relief applications
- Handling investigations and other compliance activities undertaken by various revenue offices and dealing with disputes with revenue offices
- Building and managing client relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Active involvement with the delivery of internal and external training and business development initiatives

About the role:
As a Tax Advisory Manager or State Taxes Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical and commercially focused advice to clients and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with the team to deliver impactful solutions and build strong relationships with clients.
Requirements:
- Law and/or accounting degree, with experience in state taxes (i.e. stamp duty, land tax, windfall gains tax), or in a different area which requires interpretation of legislation
- Commercially focused, with the ability to think strategically and work autonomously or collaboratively in a team
- Strong legislative interpretation skills and the ability to craft well-written, accurate and practical pieces of advice
