A key role in our organization is available for a highly skilled Waste Project Officer. This position involves developing and implementing effective waste strategies to support our sustainability goals and reduce waste sent to landfill.

About the Role:
  • This role will involve coordinating and managing waste-related projects, tenders, and contracts to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement.
  • As a Waste Project Officer, you will provide expert advice on waste, recycling, and resource recovery issues to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • You will engage with residents, community groups, and internal teams to promote waste avoidance, reuse, and recycling practices.
  • The successful candidate will also support the assessment of Development Applications with waste-related requirements to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Key to this role is integrating sustainability principles into operations and community programs to create a positive impact on the environment.
Your Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in waste management, environmental science, or a related field are essential.
  • Experience in waste, resource recovery, sustainability, or environmental management is highly regarded.
  • You should have strong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skills.
  • Familiarity with current waste management legislation, ecological sustainable development, and resource recovery systems is required.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams is crucial.
  • A current NSW Class C Driver's Licence is mandatory.
