
Passport Technology Specialist

**Job Description**
The team's primary objective is to ensure the Australian passport remains interoperable worldwide and features the latest technology. The role entails maintaining awareness of forthcoming changes to international passport standards and implementing innovative solutions that advance the Australian Passport Office (APO) in line with international progress.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining expertise on biometric technology, passport chip technology, passport security features, public key infrastructure, and book technology. This involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders domestically and internationally, participating in working groups related to passport technology, and supporting technologies for the department, including facial recognition technology.

They will also have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing them to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
