Job Description

You have a unique opportunity to take on a challenging role that will allow you to leverage your expertise in heavy rail control systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the strategic management of Heavy Rail Control Systems.

This is an exciting time to join our organization as we undergo significant transformations to enhance the safety and reliability of our transport network. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to lead the creation and continuous improvement of Strategic Asset and Services Plans (SASP and ASP) to support operational safety, reliability, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Management: Oversee and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Asset Register for control systems, data, and communications assets to enable informed decision-making and risk management.
  • Business Case Development: Prepare evidence-based business cases, reports, and recommendations by analyzing asset data, assessing risks, and engaging stakeholders to support asset management decisions.
  • Investment Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop an integrated investment plan aligning with long-term infrastructure strategies and funding requirements.
  • Strategic Asset Planning: Lead the creation and continuous improvement of SASP and ASP to support operational safety, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Technical Assurance: Provide technical assurance on asset performance, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, maintenance, and operational standards.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Identify innovative asset improvement opportunities, including new technologies, asset upgrades, renewals, and divestments that align with digital transformation and operational goals.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in asset management within heavy rail control systems or similar infrastructure environments.
  • Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex technical information into actionable plans.
  • Governance and Risk Management: Experience in governance, risk management, and compliance within transport or related sectors.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Leadership and Innovation: Ability to lead change and innovation while managing operational continuity and safety requirements.
  • Advanced Train Control Systems: Demonstrated experience with ETCS, CBTC, and other advanced train control systems.
  • Cybersecurity Frameworks: Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks applicable to rail control systems.
