Energy Forecasting Analyst - Operational Support

About the Role:

">

We are seeking an experienced Energy Forecasting Analyst to join our Operational Support division, playing a vital role in real-time electricity system operations across Australia.

">

The successful candidate will develop, implement and improve forecast models for electricity demand, distributed PV and renewable energy generation, ensuring accurate and reliable data for network outage planning, reliability assessments and real-time decision-making within the NEM and WEM markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Manage operational forecasting models and update inputs to enhance performance.">
  • Collaborate with weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts.">
  • Align tools, data and processes across the NEM and WEM markets.">
  • Provide energy and weather insights for operational advisories, incident reviews and market reports.">
  • Support system upgrades, reforms and digital enhancements to improve forecasting systems.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • ">
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology or related fields.">
  • Experience in energy, operations, forecasting or analytics roles.">
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in reports and stakeholder engagement.">
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistical modeling tools such as Power BI, Databricks, SQL and Excel.">
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple projects.">
