Watchhouse Officer

The role of a Watchhouse Officer is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

This role involves performing various administrative tasks, supervising persons in custody and visitors to the watchhouse, and maintaining accurate records.

You will also be responsible for operating electronic surveillance systems, preparing prisoner files, and assisting with the processing of individuals received into custody.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will supervise the welfare, comfort, and security of prisoners, monitor their medical needs, and provide support to senior staff as needed.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess an Open C Class Drivers Licence, adhere to the QPS Code of Dress and Appearance, and work a 24-hour, 7-day rotational roster.

• Perform administrative tasks related to the supervision and monitoring of persons in custody and visitors to the watchhouse.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prisoner information.
• Operate and monitor electronic surveillance systems.
• Prepare and maintain prisoner files.
• Assist with the processing of individuals received into custody.
• Supervise the welfare, comfort, and security of prisoners.
• Monitor the medical needs of prisoners and arrange for appropriate assistance as required.

• Possession of an Open C Class Drivers Licence.
