Perinatal Infant Mental Health Senior Clinician Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in perinatal infant mental health. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with vulnerable populations, including pregnant women and new mothers, to provide them with the support and guidance they need to navigate complex healthcare systems.

Job Description

The Perinatal Infant Mental Health Senior Clinician will be responsible for facilitating intake, triage, and screening of referrals to connect parents experiencing moderate to severe perinatal and infant mental health concerns with tailored, appropriate services. They will also coordinate care pathways by collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including CaFHS clinicians, Aboriginal Cultural Consultants, and community providers to ensure integrated, culturally appropriate support.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant degree enabling full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive perinatal biopsychosocial assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized care plans including risk management and safeguarding
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams, including Aboriginal families and communities
