East Metropolitan Health Service is seeking an experienced Consultant Surgeon to lead a multidisciplinary team in providing specialist surgical services. The ideal candidate will promote patient safety and quality of care, provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.
The Consultant Surgeon will work closely with the Head of Department and other Consultants to achieve national, state, and EMHS performance standards and targets. This is a permanent part-time appointment at 48 hours per fortnight.
- Provide expert surgical services to patients.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety and quality of care.
The successful applicant will be committed to growing the Aboriginal workforce and have documentary evidence of their entitlement to live and work in Australia. They must also undergo criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Advanced degree in medicine or surgery.
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
