Job Description
Colac Otway Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take on a leadership role in the area of asset accounting and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:
  • General Financial Reporting
  • Asset Accounting
  • Statutory Reporting
  • Manage Inventory Systems
  • Oversee General Taxation Activities
  • Monitor Council Treasury
  • Policy Development and Implementation
  • Assist internal and external auditors

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar finance role.
  • Experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of financial systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, problem solve and contribute to a highly collaborative environment.
  • Leadership experience would be highly regarded, but if you bring strong technical skills and a people-focused approach, we're open to supporting your leadership growth.
