As the Aboriginal Professional Practice Adviser, you will play a key role in enhancing culturally appropriate case practice within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor regional performance and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote culturally safe and supportive case management practices for Aboriginal clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve connectedness to programs and cultural supports for Aboriginal clients.
- Provide guidance and training to case management staff to enhance their ability to provide culturally appropriate practice.
- Collaborate with regional teams to identify and address cultural capacity gaps.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote culturally safe and supportive case management practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture, and the issues impacting it.
- Demonstrated knowledge of culturally safe and supportive case management practices for Aboriginal clients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
