Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role requires supporting children with additional needs and providing personal care and manual handling support.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide individualised support to students with Special Educational Needs, including assistance with learning activities.
    • Safely carry out personal care routines, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
    • Support pupils with mobility and physical needs using manual handling techniques and equipment.
    • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
    • Encourage independence, resilience, and positive engagement in school life.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, including personal care.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling practices (training provided if required).
  • Compassion, patience, and a professional attitude when supporting students.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Updated CV and enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
