Clinical Midwife Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Midwifery Specialist to join our team at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. As a key member of our maternity care team, you will provide expert guidance and support to new mothers and their families, promoting successful breastfeeding practices and enhancing maternal and infant health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide complex care in the clinical area of lactation consultancy, working closely with the midwifery and obstetric teams to offer tailored lactation advice and troubleshoot breastfeeding challenges.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for both routine and complex cases, ensuring high standards of care are met.
- Contribute to education and training of staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to policy development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure responsiveness of care needs and promote a culture of safety and quality.

Requirements- Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience and skills in providing complex care in the clinical area of lactation consultancy.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients, consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
