The Queensland Fire Department plays a pivotal role in safeguarding communities by providing fire prevention, preparedness, and response services to fires in built and landscape environments. The department offers scientific and specialist capabilities to support community outcomes.
The department encompasses various entities, including Queensland Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service Queensland, and other teams working together to prevent, mitigate, and manage the consequences of fires and emergencies on communities across the state.
The department is focused on building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through initiatives such as the Path to Treaty and Closing the Gap.
As a key member of the team responsible for undertaking and case managing investigations into staff misconduct allegations, you will contribute to developing strategic policies related to staff misconduct and ethical decision-making.
- Undertake and case manage sensitive investigations into staff misconduct breaches of policies and procedures, ensuring processes are undertaken in accordance with governance frameworks.
- Provide high-level advice on conduct investigation processes, complaints management, and compliance to support planning for risk identification, reporting, and escalation.
- Identify systemic issues arising from staff misconduct investigations and recommend strategies to resolve them.
- Prepare complex reports, briefs, and submissions, and respond to correspondence and enquiries related to investigations and ethical matters.
- Participate in policy development related to staff misconduct and ethical decision-making, making recommendations for procedural or policy reforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications:- Recent experience in government investigations and conducting investigations within a multi-disciplinary environment.
