About the Role

The Strategic Operations Manager works in support of senior leadership, within multi-disciplinary teams where they have direct access to experts, analysts, operatives, and support staff.

This position will be responsible for the preparation and oversight of operational performance reporting and governance. This includes oversight of state-level performance against strategic plans, assurance reviews of operational reporting, Performance Management Reporting (PMR), and the oversight and governance of covert systems and processes.

The Strategic Operations Manager will support senior leadership in managing operational relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders, lead strategic planning, and deliver outcomes as they relate to managing organisational wellbeing, cultural competency, workforce, learning and development, infrastructure, security, and integrity.

This position will assist with leading and coordinating the activities of support teams, including business support teams and surveillance units. As required, the position will support senior leadership in coordinating and managing investigative and intelligence efforts of operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates high-level understanding of serious and organised crime threats to national interests, with extensive experience leading and conducting complex investigations and operations.
  • Maintains sound judgement to problem solve during complex operations in order to deliver operational outcomes.
  • Provides leadership, people management, and governance skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, motivate, and develop teams and individuals within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Built and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to liaise, collaborate, and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • A current or past member of a law enforcement agency to be eligible to obtain necessary clearances.
