About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced National Steel Manager to join our shared services team of design and estimating.

This role will lead the national steel function to deliver mild and light gauge steel designs for the business, working closely with our high-performing design and estimating teams.

  • Lead and oversee the daily functions of a national Steel team, managing resource allocation and reviewing documentation to ensure technical accuracy and project delivery in line with business objectives.
  • Provide team members with guidance and industry experience in developing market segments.
  • Assist with the development of a nationally unified steel design, drafting and documentation system in alignment with applicable industry best practise and standards.
  • Work closely with internal Design and Estimating teams and internal stakeholders across the project lifecycle to ensure the best outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and high-level leadership abilities, with a minimum 5 years' experience in a management or leadership position and 10 years plus experience in the construction environment.

A structural/engineering qualification or similar is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of structural steel software programs (Advanced Steel preferred).
