This role will work within the Department of Defence, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement detailed plans for Navy platforms, ensuring timely delivery and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain open, transparent relationships with stakeholders, facilitating the progression and approval of Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) requests.
  • Work alongside the Installation Manager to secure approval for designated Navy platforms, ensuring seamless deployment.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to plan and deliver engineering outputs, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for allocated Navy platforms.
  • Provide strategic engineering advice, establishing control processes and practices for assigned Navy platforms.
  • Create and implement relevant engineering documents, briefs, and presentations for project management.
  • Manage costs, conducting due diligence on contractor surveys and quotes through cost analysis.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in Defence, managing technical aspects of project delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience with Royal Australian Navy (RAN) platforms.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to present and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and project teams.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in the Defence sector.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in Defence Projects.
  • Background working with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs, whether in a military, APS, or contractor capacity.
  • CASG experience, SATCOM, Tactical, Maritime, Navy, and communications experience.
