Repatriation Medical Authority Role

We are seeking an eminent medical or scientific expert to join our team as a member of the Repatriation Medical Authority. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in determining Statements of Principles (SOPs) for diseases, injuries, or deaths related to military service.

The Repatriation Medical Authority is responsible for assessing and determining SOPs based on relevant sound medical-scientific evidence. This process involves reviewing and evaluating evidence from various sources to determine whether a particular disease, injury, or death could be related to military service.

To be considered for this role, you must be a registered medical practitioner or medical scientist with an outstanding academic record and extensive clinical or public health experience. We are particularly seeking members with expertise in psychiatry or musculoskeletal medicine and/or epidemiology.

As a member of the Repatriation Medical Authority, you will be expected to demonstrate intellectual rigor, high ethical standards, and excellent representational and stakeholder management capabilities. You will also need to have a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Repatriation system and experience dealing with executive government and institutions.
