Our mission is to ensure a secure and reliable power system. We are seeking an exceptional Power System Operations Controller to join our team.

This exciting opportunity involves maintaining the integrity of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Interconnected National Electricity System. You will be responsible for real-time operational control, identifying risks, and taking decisive action when necessary.

As a Power System Operations Controller, you will work closely with a dedicated team as part of a 24/7 shift roster. Your duties will include:

  • Performing real-time Dispatch, Voltage, and Security functions for designated regions in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Conducting real-time monitoring, analysis, and control of the NEM to identify issues or violations.
  • Undertaking complex computer-based network analysis to determine solutions and take timely action.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (preferably in Electrical Engineering) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high organization, coordination, and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpretative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and practical judgment.
