We are seeking a highly respected and accomplished leader in Indigenous Cultural and Creative Industries to join our team as a Professor of Indigenous Cultural and Creative Industries.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative leader or academic to provide Indigenous leadership within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in the cultural and creative industries, with a strong track record of innovation, excellence, and community engagement.
The role will involve working closely with First Nations leadership within the university to drive priorities and achieve ambitions under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Plan and the University's One Sydney, Many People Strategy.
The Professor of Indigenous Cultural and Creative Industries will contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the university by participating in collegial governance and decision-making, fostering excellence, guiding academic staff and students, and actively contributing to research, scholarship, policy development, and innovation within and beyond the university.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who:
- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Has deep knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural and Creative Industries and practices
- Has a doctorate in any of the disciplines in the School (Art History, Creative Arts, Film Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies, English and Writing or Media and Communications), or equivalent professional experience in First Nations creative and cultural industries
- Has recognized leadership in the cultural and creative industries and/or proven international standing for academic excellence demonstrated through original, innovative and distinguished contributions to scholarship and research
- Has demonstrated community engagement and experience in leading impactful collaborations, projects and/or strategic initiatives
- Has demonstrated leadership skills, including undertaking significant administrative and/or committee positions
- Has an ability to coordinate and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the university's expectations and standards for education
This is a full-time, continuing position with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
