The Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales is seeking an Associate Professor/Professor to fill the Paul M Trainor Chair in Health Technology Innovation. This is a key role in the School, responsible for leading the Health Technology Innovation education suite and contributing to curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage strong relationships with national and international medical device industry, healthcare organisations, and professional organisations.
- Collaborate with the Randwick Health Innovation Precinct and the Tyree Foundation Institute of Health Engineering to advance UNSW's goal of leading advancements in healthcare systems, services, and technology.
- Establish UNSW as a center of excellence in medical technology innovation.
- PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and manage strong relationships and collaboration with national and international medical device industry, with healthcare organisations and a strong record of successful interaction with professional organisations.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
- A demonstrated record of excellent achievement in teaching, courseware development, and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- A demonstrated record of attracting research funding and authoring high-quality publications in biomedical engineering.
- Salary – AUD $179,630 to $229,743 per annum + 17% superannuation.
- Full-time position.
- Continuing (Permanent) appointment.
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia.
