Primary Duties:

  • Direct and manage governance operations, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, codes, and standards.
  • Offer professional guidance on governance issues to personnel, elected officials, and committee members.
  • Oversee the preparation, distribution, and follow-up of Council and Committee meeting materials, ensuring transparency and quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate and manage the execution of Council and Committee meetings, workshops, and training for elected officials.
  • Coordinate local government elections and oversee elector representation assessments.
  • Formulate and implement governance-related policies, guidelines, and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the governance framework.
  • Manage confidential orders, delegations, and authorizations.
  • Supervise legal service contracts and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including public authorities and other councils.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A degree in a relevant field or extensive experience in governance.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a knack for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of governance principles, legislation, and industry trends.
  • Experience in budget oversight, resource management, and driving organizational initiatives.
