Lead Mental Health Clinician

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced mental health clinician to lead our clinical team. The successful applicant will support and guide the team to provide a strengths-based and personalised model of care, increasing consumers' well-being and functioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to ensure high-quality assertive outreach and care coordination of services for adults experiencing mental health issues and homelessness.
  • Contribute to team functions including referral coordination, patient assessments, recovery planning, intake, and rostered activities.
  • Establish partnerships and collaborations between relevant agencies and services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Interest in working with homeless consumers directly in the community.
  • Formal qualifications as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Social Worker.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of effective evidence-based interventions for low-prevalence disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder, relapse prevention, and substance abuse.
  • Leadership skills, initiative, advanced communication skills, and a capacity to develop these further.
