About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement safe systems of work to ensure the well-being of our employees and the quality of our products.
  2. Conduct routine plant and environmental monitoring to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  3. Respond promptly to alarms from our Building Management System (BMS) and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  4. Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, and automation-related works, to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  5. Collaborate with service providers and contractors to manage maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Coordinate maintenance access to production and lab equipment with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
  7. Conduct equipment reliability studies using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to identify areas for improvement and optimize maintenance strategies.
  8. Participate in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) exercises to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  9. Investigate and resolve technical issues related to equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  10. Complete quality assurance deviation investigations as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  11. Perform electrical system investigations and resolve issues as licensed to ensure the safety and integrity of our equipment and facilities.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering, with a restricted electrical license preferred.
  2. At least 3 years of working experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital, or food processing industry, with a proven track record of teamwork and collaboration.
  3. Experience in multitasking, prioritizing, and showing initiative to complete tasks according to company goals.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  5. Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
