Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safe systems of work to ensure the well-being of our employees and the quality of our products.
- Conduct routine plant and environmental monitoring to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to alarms from our Building Management System (BMS) and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, and automation-related works, to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with service providers and contractors to manage maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance access to production and lab equipment with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct equipment reliability studies using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to identify areas for improvement and optimize maintenance strategies.
- Participate in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) exercises to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Complete quality assurance deviation investigations as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform electrical system investigations and resolve issues as licensed to ensure the safety and integrity of our equipment and facilities.
Requirements:
- Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering, with a restricted electrical license preferred.
- At least 3 years of working experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital, or food processing industry, with a proven track record of teamwork and collaboration.
- Experience in multitasking, prioritizing, and showing initiative to complete tasks according to company goals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
