About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safe systems of work to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
- Conduct routine plant and environmental monitoring to identify potential issues.
- Respond promptly to alarms from our Building Management System (BMS) and equipment breakdowns.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, and automation-related works.
- Collaborate with service providers and contractors to ensure timely and effective maintenance.
- Coordinate access to production and lab equipment with colleagues.
- Analyze Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to identify equipment reliability trends.
- Participate in Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) exercises to identify potential risks.
- Conduct engineering technical investigations to resolve equipment issues.
- Respond to facilities and utilities breakdowns.
- Investigate incidents as directed by your supervisor or manager.
- Complete QA deviation investigations as required.
- Investigate and resolve electrical system issues, leveraging your licensed expertise.
Requirements:
- Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital, or food processing industry.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Experience in multitasking, prioritizing, and demonstrating initiative to meet company goals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to adhering to OHS policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
