About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement safe systems of work to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
  2. Conduct routine plant and environmental monitoring to identify potential issues.
  3. Respond promptly to alarms from our Building Management System (BMS) and equipment breakdowns.
  4. Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment and utilities, including mechanical, electrical, and automation-related works.
  5. Collaborate with service providers and contractors to ensure timely and effective maintenance.
  6. Coordinate access to production and lab equipment with colleagues.
  7. Analyze Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to identify equipment reliability trends.
  8. Participate in Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) exercises to identify potential risks.
  9. Conduct engineering technical investigations to resolve equipment issues.
  10. Respond to facilities and utilities breakdowns.
  11. Investigate incidents as directed by your supervisor or manager.
  12. Complete QA deviation investigations as required.
  13. Investigate and resolve electrical system issues, leveraging your licensed expertise.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital, or food processing industry.
  3. Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
  4. Experience in multitasking, prioritizing, and demonstrating initiative to meet company goals.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  6. Commitment to adhering to OHS policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
